Colleen Fletcher

Colleen comes from a family immersed in veterinary care and animal welfare and has been working in the field since 2009. She has helped her mother who is a licensed technician in clinics from an early age. She has also helped with foster animals and transports with rescues.

Her first job was a kennel assistant at a local animal hospital when she was in high school.

After various other jobs, she once again found herself back in a veterinary clinic in 2015 and realized that’s where she really wanted to be. After working there a short time as a kennel assistant, she quickly moved up to kennel supervisor and then to veterinary assistant.

As a veterinary assistant, she is familiar and has assisted with many varieties of animals including rodents, reptiles, dogs and cats to small farm animals.

Colleen has also provided assistance to attending veterinarians at the Prince William County Animal Shelter and is well versed in shelter protocol and standards of care. She intends to join a veterinary technology program in the fall of 2023 to pursue her degree.

She shares her home with 4 dogs: Angel (Cocker Spaniel), Phoebe(Collie mix), Clancy(Miniature Dachshund), Teagan(Cattle dog/Elkhound mix) and 1 cat (Frank).
